If you’ve grown up in or around church, chances are you’ve heard the words of John 3:16.
“For God so lovedB)’> his one and only Son,D)’>in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
The Message translation reads:
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.”
With Easter just a few days away, I’ve been thinking a lot about God’s love and sacrifice lately. A love so great, we can’t even begin to fathom. Can you imagine such love and sacrifice?
I think I’m sacrificing if I give B the last bit of my macaroni and cheese at dinner, or put his laundry away (I know, I’m such a servant). But to sacrifice your only son?
As a new mom, I can’t even begin to fathom giving Little B up for anyone. But that is how much God loves us–He gave us His Son, his one and only Son.
Thank you Lord, for such an indescribable, underserving gift!
