Sing His Praises

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.  Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.  Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.”
1 Chronicles 16:8-10 (NIV)

What was supposed to be our weekend post, has now turned into our Monday post due to the unreliable internet at 2123 California Street…

One of my favorite ways to commune with God and experience His presence is through worship songs.  My favorite part of church is singing.  I love standing together and singing songs that praise the Lord.

In the mornings, I love listening to worship music when I first wake up.  Generally, I have found that the days that when I start off listening to worship music, my heart is uplifted throughout the day.

When my heart is broken and I don’t have energy to open up the Bible or pray aloud, I play songs that minister to my heart—there is so much peace when we’re still in the presence of the Lord.  Songs that sing of His healing, redeeming power can really help to strengthen our hearts.

I also love driving in my car and singing worship songs.  I like how the sound is confined to the four doors of your car and you can sing as loud as you want and not worry about what you sound like, if your roommate can hear you, or if your neighbors will knock on your door and tell you to be quite.

God is so worthy of our praise and there are so many ways that we can praise Him.  We can read scriptures that declare His praise, praise him through our prayers, speak His praises aloud and tell of His awesome deeds, and sing praises to Him.  I pray that we will have hearts that long to love and praise the Lord throughout our days.  He is so worthy of our praise!!

Lord, I pray that Psalm 9:1-2 will be the cry of my heart.  Lord, I pray for a heart that longs to praise you.  I pray for a heart that is so excited to tell of your wonders.  I pray for a heart that is glad and rejoices in you.  I pray that I will sing praises to your name.  Lord God, you are so worthy of my praise.  With all that I am, I long to love you.
