I don’t know about you, but I just love a good country song, especially in the summertime. Some of my favorite summer memories are driving around with my sisters listening to the sounds of Faith, Sara, Shania, Keith, and Kenny.
Recently, I have been LOVING Lady Antebellum. My all time favorite is I Run To You. I’m pretty sure it’s not about God, but whenever I hear it, that’s all I can think about.
“This world keeps spinning faster to a new disaster, so I run to You…”
There are all kinds of places to which I can, and do run—my husband, friends, mindless TV, shopping, a glass of wine, Pizza Hut bread sticks—but nothing, absolutely nothing, can hold me, protect me, comfort me, and strengthen me like the supportive arms of the Lord.
God is “My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge.”
Psalm 144:2 (NKJV)
