“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!  Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.  Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.  Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live.”
Isaiah 55:1-3

To the dried up, the worn out, the hungry, and the poor; come to the waters!

We have been given an invitation that not only quenches our hunger and thirst, it satisfies.  In spite of ourselves, at no cost whatsoever to us, we are invited to delight in the richest of fare.  As the quirky, but lovable Liz Lemon says, “I want to go to there.”

The thing about an invitation though, is it’s up to us to show up.  It’s one thing to get invited to a party, but if we don’t make the effort to RSVP and attend, we miss out.

This week, let’s make the effort to show up.  Let’s be women who take God up on His word and come, listen, and delight in Him.  Let’s allow Him to revive our souls and awaken our hearts.  All we need to do is come.

  “Come, ye sinners, poor and wretched,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore;
Jesus, ready, stands to save you,
Full of pity, joined with power.
He is able, He is able;
He is willing; doubt no more.”
Come Ye Sinners, words by Joseph Hart
