Praise The Lord

“Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins, and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Psalm 103: 1-5 (NIV)

Throughout this challenge in addition to loving the Lord, we have looked at God’s incredible love, His blessings, His words, and we’ve also spent a lot of time focusing on Christ’s death and resurrection.  I realize that doesn’t cover everything, but when I look on all of these incredible truths, my heart is compelled to praise the Lord!

Usually, when someone tells us that they love us, at some point along the way, we want to know why.  We want to hear why they love us and what they love about us.  Why have they fallen in love??

This week, we’re going to spend some time praising the Lord and not only telling Him that we love Him, but telling him why we love Him and what we love about Him—there is SO much!  I pray that this week, we will shower the Lord with blessings and praise.

Today’s Psalm is one of my favorite passages that praises the Lord.  I’m think we’ve already looked at it, but it’s too good not to revisit.  Why is He worthy of all of our love and praise?  He forgives, He heals, He saves us, He crowns us with love and compassion, He satisfies us, and He renews us.  Praise the Lord!

Lord God, you are worthy of all of my praise.  Thank you for who you are and what you’re doing.  May I never forget your benefits!  Today, I pray for a heart that eagerly desires to love and praise you.  Lord, I pray that your praise will always be on my lips.  May my mouth declare how wonderful you are and how much I love you.  Lord, each day, may I fall more in love with you.
