Perfect Timing

Hope you had a great Christmas! Bear met Santa and, once again, he was #notimpressed!

Welcome to 2015, my friends!

I don’t know if other bloggers feel this way, but around the New Year, I always feel pressure to have some deep and profound post; one that looks back on 2014 with deep insight and reflection and one that looks forward to 2015 with great vision and anticipation.

Combine that with my blogging hiatus and I’m just not sure how to even begin to ease back into writing…

But on New Year’s Day, in a rare quite moment, I was able to sneak away to sit and pray, think, and reflect on 2014.

If I were to put a little bow on 2014 with one overarching theme, it would be this: God’s timing is perfect.

For us, 2014 was a year of two BIG additions: owning our first home and welcoming our baby girl into our family.  One took a lot longer than we had hoped and planned, while the other came more quickly than we expected, but no matter the timing, both were incredibly welcomed gifts from God.

Here’s the thing I continue to learn over and over again, and 2014 was no different: we may think we have control and we may think we have plans, but ultimately, it’s God who is in control and His timing is perfect.

Sometimes we may wait…and wait…and wait some more, while other times, life catches us by surprise, we readjust and go with the flow, but in all things, at all times, God knows what He’s doing and we can trust His timing.

So, as we jump into 2015, be encouraged, that no matter what God may throw at you this year, no matter how fast or how slow, His timing is good and We. Can. Trust. Him.

We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.
Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
Habakkuk 2:3

He has made everything beautiful in its time.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

P.S: Sweet Friends who are faithful to make it to the end of a post, here’s a confession: I have been trying to publish this post since last Thursday when I started it…ugh!  Admittedly, it’s not even very long, but every time I got close to hitting publish, someone woke up, someone started to cry, or someone was calling yelling my name.  It’s quite clear that life with two little ones has taken over…combine that with easing back into work this week, and my blogging appears to be a thing of the distant past.

But know this: I LOVE this space and I’m working to figure out a schedule that doesn’t eliminate my writing, but also doesn’t leave my children watching TV for five hours a day.  (Moms with regular blogs, how do you do it?!)  Writing is so therapeutic for me and something that brings me such joy; I’m not ready to call it quits!

So, here’s to getting organized and finding a system that works in 2015!!  Hope to be back SOON!!

xoxo,
Elizabeth
