I’m what you call a superfluous person–I often subscribe to the mindset that more is better. More hot sauce, more ice cream, more pairs of shoes…you get the idea.
This is one reason why I love the Amplified translation of the Bible so much–you get even more! This morning, I was led to one of my very favorite verses from this translation and just had to share it. It was the perfect verse to inhale, as I try hard to exhale all the worry, waiting, and unknowns:
God will guard me and keep me in perfect and constant peace when my mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on Him, because I commit myself to Him, lean on Him, and hope confidently in Him.
I will trust in the Lord (commit myself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].
