“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!”
Luke 24: 5-6
Alleluia, the Lord is Risen!
Happy Easter Everyone! So, this morning around 5:00 am, I awoke to the sound of birds chirping joyously and loudly outside my window. Usually, I would be upset by this early awakening, but somehow in my sleepy state, I was able to remember what day it was and I smiled. Sunday is finally here!!
I thought about how in the Psalms when it says, “let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Those little birds just wanted to declare that Jesus has risen too! Who am I to stand in their way? I thanked God for the power of Christ’s resurrection, and then I eventually was lulled back to sleep by my chirpy little friends.
All around me this weekend, creation has been declaring Jesus’ victory over death. Easter is a glorious day no matter what kind of weather you have, but here in DC, nature has been especially cooperative with springing us into the glory of Easter.
Our Redeemer Lives, thanks be to God! He is SO worthy of our love! Today, may our hearts be filled with the hope, joy, and freedom that we have through Christ’s death and resurrection. May today be a day that we rejoice in the mighty power of our Savior and remember God’s incredible love for us!
I don’t know about you, but I think today calls for a little Darlene Zschech and some Hillsongs? Don’t be afraid to get your praise dance on, I promise not to judge! (E-mail subscribers click here and scroll down)
