New Year. New Site.

 erwsite

Today is a BIG day!!  As you can hopefully see, today, my blog had a BIG makeover.  For the past six years (crazy, I know!), my little blog has been hosted on blogspot at www.longtolove.com and today, we’re making a big jump.  Blogspot, you’ve been so good to me, but after all these years, it’s time for an upgrade as we introduce www.elizabethrobertsonwilliams.com.

This has been something I’ve been working on for several months and it is with such nervous excitement that I share it with you.

Over the past year, B and I have been praying over our future on several different levels (jobs, locations, homes, etc.) and seeking out what God is calling us to do both individually and as a family.  One thing that’s been so clear has been my desire to continue writing, speaking, and encouraging women of all ages to love Jesus more.  I had no idea that when I started blogging all those years ago, it would awaken in me such a desire to write and use my stories and experiences to encourage other women.  So, as we’ve been praying about what that looks like, we decided to take the next step and launch a new website to enhance my ministry.

I’ve been working with the BEST team at Shelton Interactive to help walk me through each detail.  Some parts make me slightly uncomfortable, like the domain name, the “praise” section, the press page…but as we’ve gone back and forth, they’ve helped me think through things strategically as we launch the site and hope to solidify my ministry.

I’ll be honest, I still wrestle with the notion of being “strategic” vs. allowing God to work and move as He sees fits, but as I’ve been walking through this, the word I feel like God keeps whispering to my heart is,  “Take the next step and don’t be afraid.”

So that’s what we’ve done and that’s what we’ll continue to do as we continue on this journey: seek God and when He tells us, we’ll take the next step.

If you peruse the site, one thing you may notice is that I’ve written a book, The Roaring 20s!  This project has been something I’ve been working on for over two years now and nothing would make my heart happier than to put a copy into all of your hands.  It doesn’t yet have a publishing home, but we are praying and believing that 2014 will be the year that God provides a home for both our family as well as my book!  I’m working with a literary agent and a great team that’s helping me make that a reality, so stay tuned!  You can read all about The Roaring 20s here.

We’ve also included a page for speaking.  This is something that I genuinely LOVE doing when I have the opportunity!  Unlike writing, it’s a chance to meet and connect with people face-to-face.  Looking for a speaker for an upcoming event?  Let’s talk!

One of my favorite aspects on the new site is the “Likes & Loves.”  If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I LOVE favorites!  This is a place where I can memorialize some of the best of the best–favorite books, websites, and products.

There’s also a “Meet Elizabeth” section.  Again, something that makes me a little uneasy and a section that I wrote over and over again.  How can you really “meet” someone over the Internet?  But if you want to get to know a little more about me, click here. (Though I feel like, by now, most of you already have a pretty good idea of who I am).

We’ve also added new categories for the blog to make it easier to sort through all of the posts.  You can check them out on the right hand side of the blog page.  I’m still working on categorizing the old posts, so bear with me…

So, there you have it, www.elizabethrobertsonwilliams.com!!  Again, I’m both nervous and excited about this new venture!  I hope you enjoy the new home.

In addition to a new site, I’m working on being more plugged into social media.  It’s a fun, quick way to stay connected throughout the day and week.  So, if you are so inclined, it would mean so much to me if you:

Two small housekeeping items:

If you currently subscribe to Long to Love in an online reader, if you wouldn’t mind switching to www.elizabethrobertsonwilliams.com, that would be wonderful!

If you subscribe by email, your email was transferred to the new site.  If you want to sign up for email updates, you can do that in the right-hand corner, here.

I hope you enjoy the new home!  Tomorrow, we’ll be back to business as usual with Friday Favorites!

PS:  A huge, huge THANK YOU to Mary Stafford Photography for the new pictures!!  Not only is she one of my most coolest friends (and I think all my friends are really cool), when it comes to photography and making things beautiful, she is the best of the best!!  Head here now to see what I’m talking about.  LOVE this girl!

Hooray! Love the new site! The tagline “Crazy Life, Constant God” is just perfect. Reminds me of a quote (I think Oswald Chambers) that I had in my apartment after college: “We are uncertain of the next step, but certain of God.” Which also describes the step you’re taking with the new site. He is certain and constant, so there’s nothing to lose. So proud of you, friend!

Thank you, Caroline! I feel like you’re one of my most “plugged in” friends when it comes to the internet and social media, so thanks for all your social media love. It means so much!
