A Little Comfort

Anyone else just need a little comfort, today?!  B has been sick off-and-on since last Thursday and this morning he woke up with a fever that had resurfaced, once again…ugh!

Is it just me or, at times, can February seem so cold and bitter?  People are sick, the weather can be depressing and debilitating, and many times these frozen wintry months feel so isolating and lonely.  The good news?  Spring is coming!

Until then, here’s a little comfort today to help carry you through February:

Read:

“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God…He will feed his flock like a shepherd.  He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart.”
Isaiah 40:1, 11 (NLT)

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4

Right now, I’m cooking the Pioneer Woman’s Chicken Noodle Soup.  It is so warm, cozy, and delicious!  Or if you have no energy or desire to cook, Whole Foods’ Chicken Noodle soup is amazing!

Take Care of Your Self:

Whether you are struggling physically, emotionally, or spiritually, find something that will offer you comfort and strength.

  • Grab a cup of coffee with a friend (even a virtual cup of coffee through Facetime or Skype)
  • Take a bath and let yourself relax.
  • Treat. Yo. Self.

February can feel lonely, but take heart, God is near!  Cling tightly to Him.

“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God…He will feed his flock like a shepherd.  He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart.”
Isaiah 40:1, 11 (NLT)
