Harrison & Bear in their #xmasjammies–pretty sure these little cousins will be matching until they’re 23…
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year.
I don’t know about you, but today, on January 2nd, I’m working on resurfacing after the post-holiday slump and trying to put my life back together.
Partly because the past two weeks have been a wonderful blur filled with family, parties, traveling, gifts, and food…oh my goodness, the food; and partly because my head is a little foggy as I recover from a head cold that I’m pretty sure was passed from my six-month-old nephew to his two-year-old sister, to my eleven-month old son and then onto me, both my mind and my life seem a little cloudy as I attempt to get back to “business as usual.”
And so, here I sit, wanting so badly to recap 2013, a year filled with major milestones and transitions for our little family, and tie it up with a little bow, while at the same time, eager to jump into 2014 with new goals, dreams, and perspective. But alas, I think those may need to wait, because I seem to be drawing a blank on all fronts.
So, in an attempt to resurface in the bloggy world as I ease into my routine, once again, for my first post in 2014, here’s what I know:
God was good in 2013.
God will continue to be good in 2014.
God was near in 2013.
God will continue to be near in 2014.
God was faithful to fulfill His promises in 2013.
God will continue to fulfill His promises in 2014.
God was worthy of praise in 2013–in both the highs and the lows.
God will continue to be worthy of praise in 2014–in both the highs and the lows.
Many things may change from year-to-year, but the sovereignty and eternal promises of our God do not.
Here’s to wrapping up 2013 and jumping into 2014 with gusto!
“You crown the year with Your good blessings, and You leave abundance in Your wake.”
Psalm 65:11 (NET)
