Today, on this cold, dreary Wednesday, I’m in need of some serious scripture–as in, “hook me up to an IV and pump it into my veins.”

I’ve talked before about the notion of “inhaling scripture.”  For me, I love the imagery and the physical act of taking a deep breath and inhaling God’s word.

On days, when all I really want to do is curl up in a corner and sit in denial, the conscious act of breathing in God’s word, even when I’m not feeling it, can be so life giving.

God’s Word is True.

God’s Word is Comforting.

God’s Word is Alive.

God’s Word is Powerful.

So, here are a few verses I’m inhaling this morning:

God guards me, keeps me in perfect and constant peace because my mind (both its inclinations and its character) is stayed on Him, because I commit myself to Him, lean on Him, and hope confidently in Him.
Isaiah 26:3
The Lord God goes before you and is with you.  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.
Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11

My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.
Exodus 33:14
