Hi Everyone! Sorry for the delay, we’ve been a little busy over here. It is with great delight that I introduce you to Bernard “Bear” John Williams IV! We are head over heels in love with our little cub and could not be happier.
Some of you already know the story, but for those who don’t, Bear held on to watch the Wahoos defeat NC State by 3 points in basketball Tuesday night, but all the excitement was just too much for him…20 minutes later over frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog, my water broke.
I wasn’t exactly sure if it had happened, hence my blog post on being overdue on Wednesday, but after a trip to the doctor Wednesday morning, it was confirmed. Off to the hospital we went!
17.5 hours later, Bear made his grand entrance into the world at 2:25 am on 1-31-13, weighing 7 lbs, 10 oz and 20 inches long.
The past five days have been a whirlwind of snuggles, feedings, diapers, family, dear friends, and lots of deli meat sandwiches (Right when we left the hospital, we headed straight to pick up Take it Away turkey sandwiches…I may be a little sleep deprived, but I still have my priorities!)
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about the birth later on…as a regular blogger, even during labor, I was thinking of all kinds of good blogging material such as: the healing power of the epidural, the attentive loving care of a kind doctor and a good nurse, and the eternal promise that even through extreme pain and scary circumstances, God is still with us. He was so near during the delivery and I’m beyond grateful for how He answered so many of my specific prayers regarding the whole process.
But those are all stories for another day. Until then, enjoy a few pics of the newest member of our family. We are in BIG love with our little boy.
Thanks so much for all your prayers and support over the past 9 months. My heart is so full!
