Give Thanks.

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend!  We had the BEST time with Mary Tobin and her fabulous parents Josie and Izzy visiting us in Charlottesville.  I can’t tell you what a weekend with a “life friend” can do for your heart–it was a much needed, refreshing treat.

AND my beloved Wahoos FINALLY gave us something to rejoice over–a 41-40 victory over Miami with 6 seconds to go.  It was a delight!

As we head into Thanksgiving next week (my favorite holiday), it’s good and important to be reminded of just how much we have to be grateful for.  From little things like good friends and fun football, to much bigger things like unending forgiveness and everlasting life.

It’s good to give thanks!

“Thanks is what multiplies the joy and makes any life large, and I hunger for it…The brave who focus on all things beautiful and all things true, even in the small, who give thanks for it and discover joy even in the here and now, they are the change agents who bring fullest Light to all the world.

When we lay the soil of our hard lives open to the rain of grace and let joy penetrate our cracked and dry places, let joy soak into our broken skin and deep crevices, life grows.  How can this not be the best thing for the world?  For us?  The clouds open when we mouth thanks.”

-Ann Voskamp, One Thousand Gifts

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
Psalm 100:4-5
