Friday Favorites: 5.2.14

Happy Friday!!  Is anyone else in disbelief that we’ve just crossed into the month of May–craziness!  As we jump into a new month, here are a few favorites to kick things off:

There will be a post on this coming next week, but Tuesday was my all time FAVORITE Oswald Chambers entry.  Read it here.

One of the very first blogs I ever discovered and embraced was Nesting Place and I’m so excited that she’s released a new book!!  I haven’t read it yet, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it!!  I’m in LOVE with her motto, “it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful” and have relied heavily on many of her tips and ideas through the years.  Read her latest post “Because Sharing The Imperfect Is Worth The Risk” and check out her new book here.

My typical go-to source for all things delicious is The Pioneer Woman.  I LOVE her latest post on her favorite recipes for quick-and-easy dinners.  Like this simple French Bread Pizza:

In the words of the beloved Ina Garten, “How Easy Is That?!”

I’m always on the hunt for high-quality, engaging toys for Little B.  When it comes to his toys, I’m trying to hold on to the mantra “quality over quantity.”

Over Easter in Mc Lean, Bear and I had to pop out of the church service during the sermon and met a little girl around his age named Nora.  Nora’s mom was smart enough to come prepared with lots of toys to keep her Easter babe content.  Thankfully, Nora was nice enough to share with us and I fell in love this this simple shape sorter from Plan Toys.

What I love about it is that it teaches shapes, colors, fine motor skills, and problem solving.  But unlike other shape sorters, it’s all connected, so it’s a great on-the-go toy to keep little minds occupied and challenged, without spilling a bunch of plastic shapes everywhere.  You can buy it here.

I’m always in the market for new hair and cosmetic products.  And I LOVE Natalie’s list, “10 Beauty & Hair Items to Try.”  Check it out here.  In the near future, I hope to do my own list, because I have a few beauty essentials that I can’t live without.  (Don’t we all?)

Facebook followers have already seen this, but I HAVE to share it here, too.  It’s no secret I love Jimmy Fallon’s lip synching competitions and his latest battle with Emma Stone is amazing.  Y’all I adore Emma Stone!!  She is the cutest!!  If you only have a minute, jump ahead to 5:20 to watch Emma’s finale.  Watch below:

That’s all for this week.  Have a fabulous weekend!!
