Happy New Year, long lost friends! I was supposed to be on a road trip with my two little people to visit some dear friends this morning, but, alas, sickness has struck our household. I’ve spent my day taking temperatures, wiping noses, and holding babies. The only good thing about sick kids is that they are extra snuggly. In a small act of God, both are FINALLY sleeping, so I thought I’d hop on my little space on the internet share a few favorites for 2016. (Note: it took me approximately 17 tries to even remember my password for my site. Guess you could say I’m a bit rusty!)
I was inspired by my dear friend Anna Kate’s recent post for a quick and simple way to share some of my favorite things. So here we go…
My newest obsession is my new Simplified Planner by Emily Ley. I feel as though with this little gem in my hands, my laundry will magically be put away and my floors will begin to sweep themselves. But this tiny wonder actually HAS helped me tremendously to stay focused and organized. They’re sold out online, but you can search #wehaveEL on Instagram to find one!
I also LOVED Emily’s latest post “5 Ways To Stay Organized in 2016.”
Still reading For The Love by Jen Hatmaker. I plan to finish it tonight. By far the best book I read in 2015 and a sliver of 2016.
Last week I made this Easy Mexican Chicken and Rice Casserole. I opted for homemade cream of chicken soup and red enchilada sauce, eliminating the “easy,” but it was worth it! This baby fed us for days.
B and I have been binging episodes of Making a Murderer via Netflix. I. Am. Hooked. Have you seen it?? Do you think Steven Avery is guilty or innocent?
I got these Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans from Old Navy for $20 and I can’t take them off. I love the wash and they’re SO comfortable!
Also loving this Christmas present from B. I’m pretty sure I’ve worn this combo everyday since Christmas…
Sweet friends who send fun and thoughtful cards. I’ve received two Emily McDowell cards this past month and I’ve kept them on my desk because they make me so happy. Sometimes it’s the little things, you know?! (Because I know my sweet mother is reading this, I must include a disclaimer that some of her cards are a bit “colorful”)
Birthday tulips from Whole Foods that have made me smile each time I walk by.
A quick polish change on my birthday with this fun new color, Cinnamon Sweet (It’s a deeper red than how it appears online). Note: when holding crying, fussy, feverish little people all day long, red nails will make you feel a tad bit better about life.
That’s all for now. Have a great weekend, friends!!
P.S. I’m working on a new weekly project over at Changing Seasons called Soul Food–it’s a weekly email each Tuesday that gives you a little taste of fun and inspiring things around the internet. If you like Friday Favorites, I think you’ll LOVE Soul Food. Check out the latest edition here. You can also email me at elizabeth(at)changingseasons(dot)com to sign up!
And speaking of Changing Seasons, our Winter Evening Event is in just 1.5 weeks featuring Lincee Ray! Get all the details here.
