As we ease into 2014, I am trying to get organized so I can start with a fresh slate. B is traveling for work this week, so last night, I had the simple goal of cleaning out my inbox, which had 97 unread emails in the primary folder….ugh, definitely not something I’m proud of, but as with any project, you have to start somewhere….
Any tips of staying on top of email? I’m all ears!
As I sat at my computer, I decided to turn on “Nick at Nite” and was delighted to see a Full House Marathon! In addition to my mom and dad’s wise counsel, during the nineties there were two shows that helped raise me: Saved By The Bell and Full House. So last night I watched as Stephanie secretly let Kimmy Gibbler pierce her ears even when her dad told her not to; D.J. forget Kimmy’s 16th birthday because she was too busy dating Steve (aka the voice of Aladdin); and Uncle Jesse lie on the twins’ preschool application…I’m telling you, they just don’t make TV like they used to!
Feeling nostalgic for the Tanner-Katsopolis-Gladstone crew?
A little later that night, I stumbled upon an US Weekly article (yes, only the best for my news consumption!) talking about D.J. Tanner aka Candace Cameron Bure and her “controversial” stance on marriage. You can watch her full interview here.
It’s easy to get uncomfortable when it comes to words like “submit,”but I have to say, I really liked what Cameron had to say. She’s drawing from the Bible and simply sharing what works for her in her marriage. And with three kids, two careers, and 17 years of marriage, it seems to be working for them.
In my perusing, I also discovered that Cameron has a new book out, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose.
I don’t know about you, but I could certainly use a little more balance in my life…maybe that will help with my ever-growing inbox!
