Happy Monday!  I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but here, it’s cold, dreary, and rainy.  Yuck!  Not the best start to the week.  (Note: the picture above is NOT from this morning…)

Last Thursday, I wrote a post about being in a spiritual drought and I’m so thankful for those of you who reached out to let me know I was not alone.  Sometimes, even when nothing major in our life is happening, we just hit a dry patch.

But here’s what I love about God, even through the drought, His invitation to us to simply “come” never changes.

No matter how tired, weary, dry, or work out we may be feeling, we have a standing invitation to come.  Yes, it requires some effort, but when we choose to take the step and walk towards Him, He is quick to meet us with open arms.

So, if you’re feeling weary, dry, or simply distant from God, my challenge to you today is to muster the faintest bit of energy to “come” and allow God to meet you right where you are.

“My invitation never changes: Come to Me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest.”

-Jesus Calling

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

-Matthew 11:28 (MSG)

Need some more inspiration?  Below is one of my favorite worship songs, All Who Are Thirsty:

  • Mary Elizabeth Stone

Have you heard this song? I love it, especially recently, and I feel it really fits with this theme:

    • Elizabeth Robertson Williams

Oh, I love that! Thanks so much for sharing!! xoxo
