Channeling Your “Little Engine That Could”

little engine that could

HELLO!  It’s been quite a while…

Last week was a bit of a whirlwind for me, full of GREAT things, but a week that left little time for blogging.

Do you ever have weeks where you feel like The Little Engine That Could?  Moving through each day muttering under your breath, “I think I can, I think I can…”  For me, last week was one of those weeks.

It seemed everything came to a culmination from Monday to Thursday.  I had an increased work load for my part-time job, we were getting all of our ducks in a row to close on a house (more on that soon!), and I had to handle last minute details for our spring Changing Seasons event with Jeannie Cunnion (my new best friend!).

In between writing new website copy for work; emailing and calling lawyers, realtors, and bankers; meeting flooring companies, locksmiths, and painters; responding to seating requests for Changing Seasons and trying to remember how to mail merge a spreadsheet so it prints off a master list of names alphabetically with table assignments; oh, and that tiny task of taking care of a 15 month old little boy who is becoming more of a mover and shaker each day, while making sure the men in my life had food on the table (for the record: we pretty much had a version of quesadillas or fajitas every night for a week); I kept trying to remind myself that I was not alone.  I kept trying to slow down, breath, and remember that God was with me, helping me get through each and every task.

We might look at our busiest weeks as insurmountable mountains we have no idea how to start climbing, but our God sees and knows each thing we need to accomplish and He is with us every step.

No matter how busy or crazy your life may seem, Put. Your. Hope. In. Him.

Let Him walk with you each day, step-by-step.

A verse that was an incredible lifeline for me last week was this:

“We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.  In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.  May your unfailing love rest upon us, Oh Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”
Psalm 33:20-22

As we start off a new week today, no matter what projects, obstacles, or to-do lists stand in your way, put your hope in the Lord and allow Him to be your help and your shield!
