|He is Risen!!|
Happy Easter!! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating Jesus’ resurrection this weekend! As our first major holiday with Little B, I was so excited to hop down to Virginia Beach to celebrate with our family.
It’s a toss up between Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving as my favorite holiday, but I can’t tell you how much I adore Easter. Like most of you, we have our traditions that we carry out each year–new dresses, dying Easter eggs, searching for Easter baskets, a delicious lamb dinner cooked by T-Rob, a delicious brunch with my grandparents, and the most incredible (and competitive) Easter egg hunt you ever did see. But, as fun as all one of those traditions are, Easter is so much more than dresses, baskets, and eggs.
My most favorite part is being in my family’s church Easter morning, the church I’ve attended since I was just two weeks old. I love sitting in the pew, surrounded by dear family and friends all dressed up in their Sunday best and when the minister declares, “Alleluia, the Lord is Risen!” Responding in unison, “The Lord is Risen indeed, Alleluia!”
Like most Easter Sundays, I was moved to tears in church yesterday reflecting on God’s power and His incredible sacrificial love. Easter reminds us that God can make the impossible possible. Raising someone from the dead? It’s possible! Saving the world from their sin? It’s possible! Nothing is impossible with God.
When B and I got married, we prayed together to find a verse to engrave on the inside of our wedding rings and we eventually decided on, Mark 10:27, “All things are possible with God.” Because no matter what life is going to throw at us in our life together, we want to be reminded that no matter what, nothing is impossible with God.
So today, as we continue to reflect on the the miracle of Easter and we celebrate that we have a Savior who is very much alive and active–one who can move mountains and is mighty to save us, I pray that we will be encouraged to know and believe that no matter what we may be facing in our own lives, nothing is impossible with God. He is able!
